Name, chosen pseudonym or anonymous marker on the digital expedition roll, plus access to public project updates and the final digital expedition report.
A place in
the bronze litany.
The project needs supporters at every level, from people who merely want their name on the roll to the small number sufficiently unwise to sail with us to the most inaccessible patch of ocean on Earth.
The campaign itself uses a staged funding model: lower levels fund feasibility, design and preparatory work before any irreversible commitment to fabrication or charter. Read how the staged funding works →
From the outer circle to the edge of the world.
Final fulfilment depends on campaign structure, fabrication and platform rules at launch. Where an item cannot lawfully or practically be tied to a donation, it will be offered separately or replaced with a non-commercial acknowledgement.
Digital certificate, acknowledgement in the expedition roll and inclusion in the ceremonial "Apology to R'lyeh" register, subject to the final compliant supporter scheme.
Enhanced project-page acknowledgement and a numbered digital chart certificate recording the Point Nemo coordinates and expedition date once confirmed.
Name entered in a physical expedition ledger intended to travel aboard the vessel and return as part of the permanent project archive.
Prominent acknowledgement in the final expedition report and documentary credits, plus an archival facsimile of the signed expedition log after return.
Subject to engineering, legal and environmental approval, inclusion in the principal donor register associated with the monument. This may be a donor band, plaque or sealed archival register rather than direct engraving on the sculpture.
Principal-supporter credit across the project site, final report and documentary, with invitation to a pre-departure or post-expedition project event where practicable.
Top-tier public acknowledgement, inclusion in the permanent project archive and, subject to logistics, an invitation to visit the sculpture or expedition preparations before departure.
A provisional civilian berth on the Point Nemo expedition under a separate contract, including shipboard accommodation and meals for the expedition period and participation in the deployment programme.
Travel to the embarkation port, visas, medical certification, specialist personal insurance and personal expenses would normally be excluded unless the final contract states otherwise.
A premium, but not an absurd one.
The berth price is benchmarked against specialist expedition cruising rather than normal cruising. As at 13 October 2026, Quark lists a 20-day Falklands/South Georgia/Antarctica itinerary with brochure prices from about £22,095, while a 23-day "Epic Antarctica" itinerary starts around £29,856 promotional / £33,055 brochure. An 18-day South Georgia and Antarctic Peninsula itinerary is around £17,000-£19,500 at entry level.
The Point Nemo voyage would carry far fewer civilian passengers and exists for a single bespoke purpose. A provisional £30,000 berth therefore prices the experience above a mainstream expedition cabin but within the range already charged for long, remote polar expeditions.
| Comparator | Duration | Indicative public price |
|---|---|---|
| Quark - South Georgia & Antarctic Peninsula | 18 days | about £17,186-£19,495+ |
| Quark - Penguins of the Far South | 20 days | about £18,781 promo / £22,095 brochure+ |
| Quark - Epic Antarctica | 23 days | about £29,856 promo / £33,055 brochure+ |
| Point Nemo - Witness to the Descent | working model 18-22 days | £30,000 provisional |
Comparator prices are public starting prices observed on 13 October 2026 and are not quotations for this project. Cabin category, season, inclusions and promotions vary.
Passage to Point Nemo, not merely a cabin.
Subject to the final vessel contract: accommodation and meals aboard, safety induction, access to expedition briefings, participation in the formal ceremony, reasonable access to documentary and science activities, and presence for the controlled deployment operation where the Master and expedition leader permit.
If weather and operations permit, the project may investigate a controlled "Point Nemo swim" or polar-style plunge. It is explicitly not promised; water temperature, sea state, recovery capability and the Master's judgement take precedence over anyone's bucket list.
No ticket until there is a ship.
No expedition place should be sold until a suitable vessel and operator have been selected and the material terms are known. Prospective participants would receive a separate agreement covering itinerary flexibility, medical fitness, insurance, cancellation, force majeure, operator rules, risk acknowledgement and what happens if the deployment itself cannot lawfully proceed.
The expedition may sail even if the monument cannot ultimately be placed on the seabed, provided an environmentally and legally acceptable alternative project can be carried out. This possibility must be explicit before anyone pays for a berth.
