The Haunter of the Dark Challenge

Somewhere above Federal Hill, something is waiting in the dark.

This quiz presents 30 questions drawn at random from a larger bank devoted exclusively to H. P. Lovecraft's The Haunter of the Dark.

The questions reward close reading rather than general Mythos knowledge, and some deliberately distinguish what Lovecraft actually wrote from what later writers, games and reference works have added.

A perfect score is exactly that: 30 out of 30.

The first ten cultists to achieve 100% will receive a physical Haunter of the Dark patch free of charge.

We do, however, inhabit a universe in which postage remains obstinately real. Winners are therefore invited, entirely voluntarily, to contribute towards postage and packing through SumUp or PayPal. No donation is required to claim a prize.

Failure need not be entirely without consolation.

If you do not achieve 100%, you will have the opportunity to purchase a patch, including postage, according to your score:

90-99%: £5 / $10 / €10
75-89%: £7.50 / $15 / €15
Below 75%: £10 / $20 / €20

Once the first ten perfect-score badges have been claimed, subsequent 100% scorers may purchase a patch at the highest-discount tier.

There are no second chances hidden in the dark, but you may take the quiz again.
