The constants may appear favourable to complex structure because they were intentionally selected.
Change the conditions. Alter gravity. Disturb nuclear stability. Smooth away the seeds of galaxies. Most universes do not explode dramatically. They simply fail to become interesting.
The museum does not assume that producing us was the point.

Generate a large population of universes, then ask the museum to choose the viewpoint of an observer. The selection rule is the exhibit.

The museum does not assign a probability to our constants. Without a justified distribution over possible constants, rarity cannot simply be read off a slider.
Success was never defined as producing us.
The Museum of Failed Universes is an interactive conceptual model, not a precision cosmology code. Its scoring rules compress several genuine physical dependencies into transparent heuristics suitable for a browser exhibit.
Several parameters can be varied over orders of magnitude. A logarithmic control makes a tenfold increase and a tenfold decrease visually comparable and prevents the reference universe from occupying nearly the entire useful range.
The exhibit can assess the prospects for familiar atoms, nuclei, stars, energy gradients and terrestrial-style biochemistry. It cannot establish the impossibility of every conceivable form of organised complexity.
They provide an intelligible route into several fine-tuning discussions: gravity, electromagnetic binding, nuclear stability, vacuum-driven expansion, density perturbations, matter abundance and dimensionality.
We do not know the probability distribution from which the constants of nature could have been drawn.
Consequently, the museum treats “fine-tuned”, “unlikely” and “designed” as interpretations to be argued for, not conclusions generated automatically by moving a slider.
